The Los Angeles Kings lead the series 1-0 against the Stanley Cup finalist Vancouver Canucks and prepared to play game 2 in Vancouver. With 8.6 seconds remaining in the 1st period, Anze Kopitar intercepted the puck, for a good scoring chance, but it was kicked out by Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo, but Dustin Brown picked it up the rebound and scored, giving the Kings a 1-0 lead. However, just 15 seconds into the 2nd period, Jannik Hansen scored on a tip in, which tied the game at 1. At the 5:17 mark of the 2nd period, Dustin Brown broke in on a breakaway and scored, giving Brown his 2nd goal of the game, both of shorthanded, 2-1 Kings. At 8:30 of the 3rd, Jarret Stoll scored during a scrum in front of the net, 3-1 Kings. The Kings continued to pile it on as Trevor Lewis scored on a wrap around, giving the Kings a safe 4-1 lead with 5 minutes remaining in the game. Samuel Pahlsson scored a meaningless goal with 3:30 remaining in the game, which tightened the game to 4-2. The Kings fended off the Canucks, and managed to take the win 4-2, and lead the series 2-0 as they head back to Staples Center for games 3 and 4.
