The Los Angeles Kings geared up to play game 2 in Phoenix, Arizona against the Coyotes. They started early and at the 13:15 mark of the 1st period, Drew Doughty took a shot from the blue line, and Dwight King deflected the shot and into the back of the Phoenix net, 1-0 Kings. Just 5 minutes into the 2nd, the puck found its way to Jeff Carter in front of the net, and he buried it to give the Kings a 2-0 lead. With 1:11 remaining in the 2nd period, Jeff Carter scored on a power play with a wrist shot from the top of the circle, finding its way through traffic in front of the net, 3-0 Kings. At the 12:56 mark of the 3rd period, a rebound off of a shot from the point found its way to Jeff Carter’s stick, and he put it into the back of the net to give the Kings a 4-0 lead and the hat trick. The Kings claimed a 2-0 series lead as they defeat the Phoenix Coyotes.
