If you looked at the Lakers box score with out looking at the final score of the game, you would think the Lakers would have won, they had Dereck with 14, Kobe with 39, Andrew with 12, Ron with 10, and Pau with 10. Everybody in double digits, i think they would have won if i just looked at the box score. But that wasnt the case today because the Heat had lots of points as well, 27 for Wade, 25 for Richardson and 17 for carlos Arroyo. The came came down to the wire and if you remember the last time the lakers played the Heat the Lakers were down 2 with a couple seconds left and Kobe banked in a three to win the game. Im sure the Heat didnt want anything like that to happen again, so the Heat finished strong this time by hitting buf freethrows and coming up with stops when they needed them most. This time the Heat held on to a win. The Lakers will try to regain their confidence when the visit the Charlotte Bobcats, who are supposed to be without all their centers Tyson, Nazer, and Desianna Shiop, so lets see how Andrew and Pau do angainst the Bobcats.

November 28, 2009 - The Clippers get their 8th win of the season nicely.  They were down by 16 points going into the final quarter and ended up winning by 10 points.  Eric Gordon played great scoring 29 points. 

I watched Eric Gordon closely to see whether he plays better as a starter or a sixth man off the bench.  It’s clear to me that he needs to be a starter becuase when he came off the bench for the prevoius 2 games against Detroit and Indiana, he scored 20 points combined  and when he started he scored 29 points in one game. 

The Clippers outscored the Grizzlies 33-7 in the final quarter which is just remarkable.  The Clippers played stunning defense against former Clipper Zack Randolph who only scored 5 points against the Clips, low compared to his 18 point a game average.  The Clippers played well and hope to see their rookie back in just a week.

There were some very bad calls in thursdays action in  New York.   Jhonny Damon was batting and he lined it right to Ryan Howard and they said that Ryan Howard caught the ball but he didnt and he knew he didnt catch it.  They Yankees still won though.  The final score was 3-1.   Mark Texeira and Hideki Matsui both hit home runs and A.J. Burnett pitched a gem.  He went 7 innings and let up 1 run and struck out 9.  Mariano Rivera pitced the last 2 innings and struck out the last batter Matt Stairs and the series was tied up at 1.

The New York Yankees win the AL pennant.  There are two Yankees that can be considered MVP’s.  First chioce is Alex Rodriguez who hit 5 home runs and 12 RBI’s.  The other chioce is C.C. Sabathia who pitched great.  Went 2-0.  In game 1,  he pitched 8 innings and let up 1 run and struck out 7.  In game 4 he went 8 innings let up 1 run and struck out 5.  They named the MVP to C.C. Sabathia.  I thought that was correct but it really could of went either way.  The Yankees pitched great all series and had lots of offense all series.  They will face the Phillies on Wednesday.  Both teams have tremendous talent. They have named the starters on the mound for both teams.  For the Yankees it will be their ace C.C. Sabathia.  For the Phillies it will be their ace Cliff Lee.  This will be a great game and a  great series.  I will Predict it will be Yankees in 6 games.

The yankees won this game in the thirteenth inning.  Both starting pitches were great.  Joe Saunders pitched 7 innings and let up 2 runs and A.J. Burnett pitched 6.1 innings and let up only 2 runs.  Both teams just had a little offense they each scored 2 runs through nine innings and then each team scored 1 in the eleventh inning and then the yanks scored in the 13 inning.  The yankees went up 2-0 in the series.

C.C. Pitched unbelievable. He pitched 8 innings and let up 1 run and struck out 7 and it is very hard to pitchthat well against a offense like the Angels. John Lackey didnt pitch that well. Hideki Matsui had a couple of hits and a couple of rbis. The Yankees win 4-1 and lead the series 1-0. This series is a great series and i think the Angels will bounce back to win game 2.

The Phillies had the first run of the game when Ryan Howard had another run batted in. The Dodgers scored there runs in the 8 inning.  Andre eithier walked with the bases loaded to bring home the 2 run of the game. Both pitchers, Vincente Padilla and Pedro Martinez, pitched great.   The Dodgers won game two 2-1 and tied the series 1-1.

Phillies stole game 1 in hollywood on october 15. The Phillies hit two bombs the first one by Carlos Ruiz and the second by Raul Ibanez. Both were 3 run homers. Both pitchers were terrible. The offense was good for both teams but a little better for the phillies although the Dodgers did have 6 more hits than the Phillies. The final score was 8-6 Phillies. The dodgers James Loney hit a solo home run in the second inning and Manny Ramirez hit a two run bomb in the fifth inning. Then the score was 5-4 Phillies but the Dodgers just couldnt come any closer. Phils take game 1. 8-6

As I said in my last post of this series this is the only series where there isn’t a winner in the first 3 games. This series would only go four games because the Phillies won and won the series. Ryan Howard helped the phillies win with a amazing ninth inning comeback. The Phillies were down to the last out with one on base and Chase Utley at bat and he drawed a walk and then Ryan Howard came up and belter a two run double. Following Howard, Jayson Werth hit a single to cash in Howard. The phillies ended up winning 5-4.

This is the only series where there is no winner in the first 3 games. Both starting pitches were terrible. J.A. Happ of the Phillies went 3 innings letting up 3 runs.   Jason Hammel didn’t go long and let up 4 runs but could have been worst when the Phillies had the bases loaded with no outs and the Phillies third basement Pedro Felix hit a little bouncer right back to Hammel and they got a double play.  The Phillies ended up winning and getting home field back because the Rockies stole one in Phildelphia.  Phillies lead the series 2-1.
