March 8th, The Kings sit atop their throne
The Kings lost their two previous games, won’t take another loss for an answer. 5 minutes into the 1st, Wayne Simmonds scores on a low shot against goaltender Steve Mason on a breakaway. 13:24 in the 1st Drew Doughty scores on a 4 on 4, a one timer from the top of the slot, 2-0 Kings lead. About one minute later Michael Handzus scores short side on Steve Mason, 3-0 Kings lead. Another minute later, Alexander Frolov scores on a slap shot from the point, the Kings take a secure 4-0 lead in the 1st period. 4:20 in the 2nd, Fredrik Modin scored a backhander on a 2 on 1, 5-0 Kings lead. 9:46 in the 2nd, Brad Richardson picks up a rebound and gives the Kings a great 6-0 lead. The Kings have tied their season record of 6 goals, for the 9th time this season. The Kings can once again sit on their throne and enjoy the taste of victory.
