Game 76, Los Angeles Kings Vs. Nashville Predators
March 30th, The Kings end their 4 game losing streak
The Kings desperately needed to rack up two points in order to continue their quest for a playoff spot. The Kings were unable to score on Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne, just as the Predators are unable to score on the Kings goaltender, Jonathan Bernier through two periods. Bernier was called up on March 29th, to replace the Kings injured backup Erik Ersberg. Scott Parse finally beat Rinne to start the Kings off at 7:50 of the 3rd with a one time snapshot. With the teams playing 4 on 4 and 2 minutes remaining, Sean O’Donnell scored on a wrist shot, beating Rinne up high, 2-0 Kings. The Kings held their 2 goal lead and Bernier recorded his first NHL shutout, in his 2nd NHL game of the year for the Kings. The Kings look to dominate the Vancouver Canucks and come one step closer to their first playoff appearance since 2002 on Thursday night at Staples Center.
