Game 72, Los Angeles Kings Vs. Colorado Avalanche
March 24th, the Kings look to win two games in a row against the Avalanche
The Kings look to defeat the Avalanche two times in a row in a rubber match. Matt Hendricks scores on a wrap around goal at 7:38 in the 1st. 10 minutes into the 1st, Anze Kopitar gets a back handed rebound goal, which tied the game at 1. In response, Milan Hejduk gets a one timer slapshot which beat Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick and gave the Avalanche a 2-1 lead. 18:08 in the 1st, Paul Statsny increases their lead to two with a bad angled wrist shot which goes off of a Kings defenseman’s skate and into the net, 3-1 Avalanche lead. 40 seconds into the 3rd, Drew Doughty takes a wrist shot from the point and scores, bringing the Kings back into the game with one goal to tie it up. With one minute remaining in the 3rd, Alexander Frolov ties the game up at 3, leading to overtime, and a shootout.
