The Kings were upset about their previous loss against the Philadelphia Flyers and came out for blood against the Calgary Flames. The Flames also came out hard in the first and within 13 seconds Jarome Iginla snapped one off of Kings defenseman Sean O’Donnell’s stick and past Jonathan Quick. The Kings used the wakeup call but came up empty handed, 1-0 going into the 1st intermission. At the 3:22 mark of the 2nd Drew Doughty wound up from the point and ripped the puck past Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff. With the score tied 1-1 both the Flames and the Kings worked hard and 48 seconds later Kings forward Alexander Frolov carried the puck and took it to the far side of the net, 2-1 Kings lead. At the 6:51 mark Jarome Iginla hid backdoor, getting a pass and smacking it home, 2-2 tie. Then at the 7:22 mark in the 3rd the Flames out work the Kings and Daymond Langkow scored a big goal to give the Flames a 3-2 lead. At the 15:53 mark of the 3rd period Jarome Iginla snuck the puck past Quick to finish the hat trick. At the 19:14 mark Calgary took a shot from the point that was tipped past Quick’s stick side. The Flames wrapped it up and put it in the books and the Kings can only hope to get a win against their next possible victim, the Edmonton Oilers.
