The Los Angeles Kings still boasting about beating the Lightning, return to Florida to start a winning streak. Kings and Panthers come out hard in the first, leaving them both empty handed as they continue their walk to the locker room.
The Panthers come out hard in the 2nd and score a goal 2:05 in the 2nd, Panthers 1 Kings 0. A few minutes later the Panthers score on a 2 on 1, 2-0 Panthers lead. The Kings looking for a goal to bring them back into the game depend on Jack Johnson, 2-1 Kings trail by 1.
Kings rejuvenate during intermission and come out hard in the 3rd, they produce a goal 2:23 into the 3rd thanks to Jarret Stoll. 7:58 into the 3rd a Kings 2 on 1 results in Randy Jones getting a rebound, 3-2 Kings lead. 14:55 the Panthers get the puck out to the point after a scrum in front of the net and take a back door goal, 3-3 tie. 3-3 leads into intermission and overtime. During overtime the Kings get a few chances and come up empty handed. The shootout results in Jack Johnson winning the game for the Kings, and good job for Quick for not allowing one goal against in the shootout. Kings win 4-3 but must be prepared to take on the Philadelphia Flyers.
