The Kings need to get back onto their feet after their previous defeat from the Thrashers, 7-0. They haven’t gone all the way to Florida to take home another defeat. An even matchup will be a fight for first, and who is the “hoser.” Hoser is a term used in hockey from back in the day before the invention of ‘Zambonies’ where the losing team had to spray water and clean the ice before the next game. An action less 1st period, leads into an action less 2nd. After a boring start, the Kings take advantage of a 4 on 3, 7:20 into the 3rd Drew Doughty took a nice slap shot from the point, Kings lead 1-0. Tampa doesn’t give up there, and comes back at 11:39 with a wrap around, 1-1 tie. This leads into intermission, Kings come out hard in overtime and come up empty handed. A shootout occurs and Anze Kopitar finishes it off in overtime, the only goal that gives the Kings the win, 2-1. Kings have high expectations for their next game against the Florida Panthers.
