Kings fall once again against the Wild
The Kings attempt to end a 2 losing streak as they face-off against the Minnesota Wild. Martin Havlat starts the action at 4:23 in the 2nd with a dinger off the post, 1-0 Wild lead. Drew Doughty gets the Kings on the board at 11:36 as he accidentally falls and knocks Niklas Backstrom into the net, the referee reviews it and calls it a goal which ties the game at 1. The Kings let up their guard for a moment and at 15:00 Kim Johnsson scores a powerplay goal, 2-1 Wild. 18:58 Eric Belanger beats Jonathan Quick, 3-1 Wild leads going into the 2nd intermission. Kings come out hard in the 3rd and Jack Johnson scores an early period goal to bring the Kings back into the game, 3-2 Wild leads by a hair. Kings keep the pressure on and Scott Parse scores with 2:37 remaining in the 3rd, the game is tied at 3! Despite the Kings hard work and determination, Eric Belanger beats Quick 12 seconds after the Kings tie it up. The Kings lose 4-3 but hope for better luck against the Calgary Flames on December 30th.
