The Los Angeles Kings prepared to face the fierce Boston Bruins, and continue their 6 game winning streak. At the 5:18 mark of the 2ndperiod, Patrice Bergeron scored on a rebound, giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead. The Kings responded at 13:17 in the same period, when Colin Fraser scored with a one-timer from the slot. Just 5 minutes into the 3rd period, Milian Lucic scored 5-hole on the Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick, 2-1 Boston. About a minute later, Chris Kelly scored with a redirection to give the Bruins a 2 goal lead. At 14:46 of the 3rd, Slava Voynov scored with a shot from the top of the circle, which brought the game within one goal. With the Kings down late, a last ditch effort resulted in a pulled goalie, and many scoring chances, but the Bruins ended up fending off the Kings efforts. With .2 seconds remaining in the game, Brad Marchand scored on the empty net, to give the Bruins a 4-2 win. The Kings 6 game winning streak came to an end.
