The Los Angeles Kings faced the St. Louis Blues in Staples Center, Thursday March 22nd. During the 1st period, the Blues stomped on the Kings and totaled 12 shots on net to the Kings 3. The 1st period looked grim for the Kings, but Jonathan Quick, the Kings standout goaltender, stood on his head and stopped all 12 shots he faced. The Kings regrouped during the 1st intermission, and pounded the Blues, nearly doubling their shots with 17 to the Blues 9, but with Blues goalie Brian Elliott shutting down the Kings, he kept the game at a deadlock. The 3rd period resulted in no goals, leaving the game to a shootout. In the 4th round of the shootout, Jeff Carter scored, giving the Kings a 1-0 win. The Kings totaled 37 shots, to the Blues 35, a match between goaltenders, and Jonathan Quick came out on top.
