The Los Angeles Kings prepared to face the Tampa Bay Lightning in Tampa. Just 2:47 into the 1st period, Anze Kopitar tipped in a shot from Matt Greene, giving the Kings an early 1-0 lead. The Lightning hold back until they get a break when a Kings defenseman’s stick broke and Steven Stamkos skated down on a 2 on 1, and tied the game at 1. The Kings responded back about 2 minutes later when Kyle Clifford accepted a full ice pass to give him a break away and gave the Kings a 2-1 lead. With 2:14 left in the 2nd period, Dustin Penner scored on a one timer, giving the Kings a 3-1 win.
