The L. A. Kings prepared to face the Phoenix Coyotes and hope to take them down. The Kings scored first in the game, just 4:09 in, with a slap shot from the point by Rob Scuderi, 1-0 Kings. About 2 minutes later, Raffi Torres scored on a breakaway, 1-1. The Kings continued to battle and 13:48 into the 1st, Brad Richardson scored with a nifty tip-in, 2-1 Kings. Both teams continued to battle, and 13:03 into the 2nd, Torres scored yet another goal, 2-2 tie. The Kings came out hard in the 3rd period and Willie Mitchell scored early, giving the Kings a 3-2 lead. At the 7:06 mark of the 3rd period, Dustin Brown scored on a 2 on 1, giving the Kings a 4-2 lead. However, Phoenix responded 30 seconds later when Daymond Langkow scored on a rebound, but Phoenix couldn’t tie the score and the Kings won with 4-3 final.
