The Los Angeles Kings looked to pull out a win against the Detroit Red Wings and continue their 3 game winning streak. Just 6:37 into the 1st period, Mike Richards out skated a Detroit Red Wings defenseman, and scored five hole, giving the Kings a 1-0 lead on a shorthanded goal. The Red Wings are eager to come back, and just 40 seconds later, Pavel Datsyuk scored from a cluster in front of the net, 1-1. They continued to battle, and 7 minutes into the 2nd period, Niklas Kronwall scored with a one timer from the front of the net, 2-1 Detroit. At 15:38 of the 2nd, Justin Abdelkader scored with a slapshot on a 2-1, which made the score 3-1 Detroit. Datsyuk scored yet another goal, 15 minutes into the 3rd period, which resulted in a 4-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
