The Kings were looking to dominate the Minnesota Wild and get a win streak going. Less than 3 minutes into the 1st period, Colin Fraser scored from the front of the net. The Kings continue to attack, and 2 minutes into the 2nd, Alec Martinez scored to increase the lead 2-0. At the 7 minute mark of the 2nd, Dustin Brown skated around the a Wild defenseman and scored on his own rebound to give the Kings a comfortable 3-0 lead. At 11:44 of the 2nd, Simon Gagne picked up the puck behind the net and shot a backhander and scored through the five hole, 4-0 Kings. A few minutes later, Matt Greene scored with a shot from the point, 5-0 Kings. The Kings slack of a little in the 3rd period, and Cal Clutterbuck scored in front of the net, 5-1 Kings. Darroll Powe scored with 10 minutes remaining in the 3rd, which gave the Kings a 5-2 victory.
