The Kings look to recover from their loss at the hands of the Phoenix Coyotes. The Colorado Avalanche scored 7 minutes into the 1st period, as Chuck Kobasew scored a shorthanded goal on a wraparound. But the Kings responded just 30 seconds later with a powerplay goal by Scott Parse, tieing the game at 1. Halfway through the 2nd, the puck took a bad hop off the boards and Milan Hejduk scored on a virtually empty net. With a minute left in the 2nd period, Anze Kopitar scored on a 5 on 3, tieing the game at 2. Two minutes into the 3rd period, Matt Duchene scored on a shot from the top of the faceoff circle, giving the Avalanche a 3-2 victory.
