The Kings prepare themselves for what they know to be a difficult game against the Vancouver Canucks. Vancouver comes out hard in the first producing a goal at 7:35, Alexandre Burrows gets a one timer from back door, 1-0 Canucks. Kings go to the locker room to rejuvenate energy for the 2nd period. Despite the lack of energy they have remaining at the end of the 3rd Wayne Simmons gets a backdoor top shelf goal; Simmons does the arm pump as he skates to the bench. The score tied at one as they head to the locker room. The Canucks furious about giving up the lead come out hard when the Kings don’t expect it. 3:54 in the 3rd a shot from the Canucks defense results in a rebound goal by Hendrik Sedin. 7:18 Tanner Glass on the Canucks is looking for his first goal in 2 weeks, resulting in a rebound goal 3-1 Canucks lead. With a minute remaining the Kings pull Jonathan Quick, the Canucks all over the Kings as Kyle Wellwood misses the open net 2 times before getting awarded his first goal of the season. Kings lose 4-1 with hopes of a better performance against the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday night.

Nice piece on Ranger characters Stan, but we must not frgeot two others who deserve some accolades; Pete Stemkowski, another great practical joker and Bob Froese, who was a real cut up during interviews. These two players deserve some fame in Ranger lore!
