Game 43, St. Louis Blues Vs. Los Angeles Kings
Jan. 9th, The Kings come close to a comeback
The Kings didn’t expect the Blues to come out so hard early in the game. 14 seconds into the 1st Brad Winchester gets an early shot from the point, 1-0 Blues. Brandon Segal gets the Kings on the board, also his first career NHL goal, congratulations Brandon Segal. Starting the 2nd period, the Kings manage to hold the blues off until 18:54 into the 2nd, David Perron snipes Jonathan Quick top shelf, 2-1 Blues lead. 1:35 into the 3rd T.J. Oshie gets an open net shot as Quick is out of position, 3-1 Blues. Brandon Crombeen beats Quick blocker side at 5:21. The Kings wake up and realize the work they have to do if they want to win, then Dustin Brown gets a point blank shot, bringing the Kings within 2. 16:08 Anze Kopitar takes a shot with a lot of traffic in front of the net and gets a power play goal, giving the Kings the momentum, and time they need to have a chance to tie the game up. The Kings try hard and produce a few chances but can’t beat Chris Mason. The Blues beat the Kings 4-3.
