Game 41 Los Angeles Kings Vs. San Jose Sharks
Jan. 4th 2010- Kings smoke the Sharks
The Kings travel north for another battle against the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks manage to hold the Kings off for the first 15 minutes until the feared Michal Handzus scores on a wrap around, 1-0 Kings lead. A few shifts later Oscar Moller gets a one timer from the slot, 2-0 lead. With 58 remaining on the clock, Anze Kopitar takes a pass and takes advantage of a half empty net, 3-0 Kings at the end of the 1st. The Sharks hold the Kings off for the first 15 minutes again, but can’t take the Kings consistent pressure and Ryan Smyth deflects Kopitars shot in mid air, 4-0 Kings lead. 16:42, 14 seconds after their previous goal, Wayne Simmonds slips one past Evgeni Nabokov, 5-0 Kings lead. After the 2nd intermission Scott Parse intercepts a pass and snaps one past Nobokov, 6-0 Kings pull ahead by a lot. Douglas Murray at 3:21 gets a power play goal, 6-1 Kings lead. 13:00 Patrick Marleau gets a wide open slot, skates the puck and flicks it in, 6-2 Kings lead. With the final at 6-2 the Kings hope to play great and beat the Detroit Red Wings.
