Kings had an energized start and had a couple quality scoring opportunities early in the 1st. Late in the 1st Dallas comes out with a lucky pass in front of the net and it sneaks past the glove of Jonathan Quick. Five minutes into the 2nd Kings take advantage of the Stars penalty and Ryan Smyth shoots the puck through Stars defenseman’s legs and top shelf’s it to tie the score, 1-1. With 6:34 left in the 2nd Kings defenseman Matt Greene takes a shot and Justin Williams tips it in, making it a 2-1 game. 2 minutes later, just like the 1st goal, a pass from behind the net from Ryan Smyth to Anze Kopitar, makes it a 3-1 Kings lead. Kings and Dallas both work hard until Dallas pulls their goalie with around 2 minutes left, Wayne Simmons scores on an empty net, insuring the Kings a 4-1 win, ending their 3 game losing streak.
