Kings wanting to end their losing streak come out hard in the first, resulting in an amazing scoring chance that was stopped on the line by the Wings goaltender. 6 minutes into the 1^st Kings still upset about their previous scoring change ends up in a rebound from Dustin Brown. 8:47 into the 2^nd Wings defenseman takes a quick wrist shot from the point to score a short side goal, which tied the score 1-1. A few minutes later another point shot ends up slipping past Quick then getting smacked in by Holmstrom to increase the Red Wings score 2-1. Early 3^rd Lidstrom takes a slap shot from the point, deflected by Henry Zetterburg to give him his 1,000^th goal, prolonging the Red Wings lead 3-1. Kings defenseman O’ Donnel takes a Slap Shot from the point and gets deflected top shelf by Justin Williams, bringing the Kings within 1, 3-2. Red Wings answer back in a hurry, a slap shot by Maltby from the hash marks brings the Wings back to a 2 goal lead. With seconds left in the game, Kings power play expires with Rafalski cherry picking, shoots on an empty net to ensure the Red Wings win, 5-2 Red Wings win.
