The Kings know they will be in for a fight as they know the Coyotes have a 3 game winning streak. With 4 minutes left in the 1st Anze Kopitar, with a bad angle shot, sneaks a shot through former King, Jason *Labarbra’s* pads to give the Kings a 1-0 lead. The Coyotes make a desperate shot with .4 seconds left to tie the score. They succeed and tie the game at 1, leading into intermission. The Coyotes used their excitement as fuel in the 2nd and come out with an early goal, giving the Coyotes a 2-1 lead. With the last of the Coyotes fuel running on fumes the Coyotes score on a shot past Jonathan Quick’s blocker, an insurance goal to give the Coyotes a 3-1 lead. Ryan Smyth pokes the puck past *Labarbra*, this pulls the Kings back into the game. 6:44 into the 3rd Justin Williams gets the puck onto his backhand, then into the net from point blank, which ties the Kings and Coyotes at 3. With 5 minutes left in the 3rd Drew Doughty gets possession of the puck from the point and rips the puck past *Labarbra* giving the Kings a 4-3 lead over the Coyotes. With 39 seconds left in the 3rd the Coyotes pull their goalie and Ryan Smyth puts the insurance goal in, giving the final score 5-3 Kings.
