Kings looking for another win as they just got out of their 3 game losing streak, vs. the Dallas Stars! 3:54 into the 3rd Anze Kopitar takes the puck down the ice, cuts in front of the goalie and finds a hole to give the Kings a 1-0 early lead. Late in the 1st Alexander Frolov and Wayne Simmons gets a 2 on 1 rush as Frolov passes it to Simmons as he tucks it in to make it 2-0, a good lead for the Kings. Stars answer back moments later from a 2 on 1 rush making it a 2-1 Kings lead. 7:17 into the 2nd Kopitar cuts in front of the net again to get another goal, giving the Kings a 3-1 lead. 3 minutes after Kopitar’s last goal, he takes a back-handed shot from the top of the slot and a beautiful screen by Wayne Simmons; this gives Anze Kopitar his first career hat-trick! At 6:58 into the 3rd the stars take a rocket from the point, making the score 4-2. Stars getting energized from the last goal, almost wears out until another bullet from the point whistles past Jonathan Quick, taking the Stars within a 1 goal game. With around 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd the Stars rifle another shot off of the inside cross bar, which is not allowed as a goal until further review proved it as a goal, this tied the score 4-4. 55 seconds into overtime Michal Handzus gets possession of the puck which leads to a slap shot past the Stars goaltender, leading the Kings to a proud drive home.
