Kings get pumped up to take on the Pittsburg Penguins. Kings come out fierce in the first and Anze Kopitar easily slides the puck in, giving the Kings a 1-0 lead 27 seconds in the first. With the Penguins not knowing what hit them, they come out and score moments later, making the score 1-1. 10 minutes into the 1st Penguins get a lucky deflection, giving the Penguins a 2-1 lead. This score leads into the intermission, then the second period was action less. The Kings upset about giving up the lead, come out hard in the 3rd. 6:17 into the 3rd Kopitar gets possession of the puck behind the net a wraps it around to tie the game at 2. 12:09 Jarrett Stoll gets a nice pass in front of the net and buries it giving the Kings a 3-2 lead. Seconds later Michal Handzus “on the doorstep” gets a nice shot, increasing the Kings lead 4-2. With 3 minutes left Dustin Brown gets a one timer wrist shot, giving the Kings a 5-2 lead. Kings now look forward to their next game to test their skills against the Nashville Predators.
