The Los Angeles Kings geared up for a fierce game 4 at Staples Center and hoped to win in order to head to the Stanley Cup Finals. However, 14:19 into the 1st period, Shane Doan scored with a backhand shot, giving the Coyotes a 1-0 lead. Then 11:10 into the 2nd, Shane Doan shot right off the faceoff in the Kings zone, and it found a way into the net, and bounced out. The referee failed to see it because the puck hit the camera and the play continued into the Coyotes zone. The play was reviewed and declared a goal, giving the Coyotes a 2-0 lead. The Coyotes managed to fend off the Kings offense and win the game 2-0. This pushed the series into game 5 in Phoenix.
