Honorable mentions: Kris Middleton, Rudy Gay / Key Injuries: Kevin Durant
5) Andrew Wiggans; it’s time to start giving the rook some love. Wiggans started the season slow as expected from a rookie however he has quickly turned it around. Wiggans is averaging a above average 15.7 points a game which is tops for rookies, while pulling down just under 5 rebounds a game.
4) Tyreke Evans; it”s about time this guy has gotten some love again since his unbelievable rookie season. Evans has his Pelicans right in the scheme of things out in the wild west putting up very solid numbers.
3) Kawhi Leonard; Leonard remains the lone bright spot in an ending dynasty. The Spurs have really struggled this year however still find themselves in the thick of things out west simply due to the stellar play from their young star Kawhi Leonard.
2) Gordon Hayward; Before the all star break i would have flipped Leonard and Hayward, however since the all star break Haywards Jazz hold the best record in the NBA. Hayward at age 24 has been nothing but spectacular this season. He has his Jazz looking at a very bright future in Salt Lake, which we haven’t been able to say for awhile. Expect them to be in the playoff picture as soon as next year.
1) Lebron James; really no argument here. Lebron has his Cavs right in title contention as he continues to remain the best player in the NBA while putting up another MVP caliber season.
