Honorable mentions: Tim Duncan, Zach Randolph, Derrick Favors, Nerlens Noel, Kevin Love / Key injuries: Blake Griffin, Serge Ibaka, Chris Bosh
5) Paul Millsap; Millsap has taken his game to another level while his Hawks are rolling in the East. Millsap who was an all star this year has a very similar stat line to Clippers star Blake Griffin. Millsaps well rounded game has him cracking the top 5 power forwards.
4) Draymond Green; This guy needs to get some recognition. Watched him closely as he faced the Lakers the other night. He simply changes the game on both ends. His defense has him as the favorite for defensive player of the year while his Warriors hold the best record in the NBA. Record plays a big part amongst position ranking therefore Millsap and Green crack my top 5.
3) Pau Gasol; A historic season has Gasol comfortably in the third spot amongst power forward rankings today. Gasol who leads the league in doubles doubles has his Bulls right in the thick of things out east. An injury depleted season has Gasol carrying a heavier load making him my 3rd best power forward in the league.
2) Lamarcus Aldridge; Aldridge at age 29 is one of the few players in the NBA averaging at least 20 and 10. He has his blazers in great shape for a long playoff run comfortably sitting in 3rd in the wild west. Aldridge is as consistent as they get, giving him the 2nd spot respectfully.
1) Anthony Davis; Davis has his Pelicans in playoff contention while putting up absolutely ridiculous numbers. Davis is averaging 25 and 10, throwing in 3 blocks and just under 2 steals per contest. You have to ask yourself if the Pelicans make a late run and finish in the top 6 out west, is he the clear cut favorite for MVP? Oh and did i mention he is just 22 years old.
