Honorable mentions: Andre Drummond, Hassan Whiteside, Nikola Vucevic / Key Injuries: Dwight Howard
5) Al Horford; Big Al has his Hawks running away with the best record in the east being a remarkable 11 games up on the number 2 seeded Cavaliers. Horford is putting up above average numbers for the center position while expanding his game to include a very nice outside shot to his already impressive offensive repertoire. Horford who as named an eastern conference all star this year has a very bright future as he cracks the top 5.
4) Rudy Gobert; Who? The frenchmen! The giant frenchmen standing at 7’2 with a un heard of wingspan around 7’9 has him touching the rim without jumping. Then when Gobert jumps which he usually does for rebounds, which he tends to do often he has brought down a shade under 18 a game in the month of march. De Andre Jordan 2.0? The jazz traded a young promising center Enes Kanter at the deadline a couple weeks ago to make room for this guy and now we know just why they did. The Jazz hold the NBA’s best record since the all star break and Gobert is literally and figuratively a ginormous reason why.
3) De Andre Jordan; Jordan put up Wilt Chamberlain like numbers while his buddy Blake Griffin was out of the lineup do too elbow surgery. Jordan leads the league in rebounding by a large margin while he also leads the league in field goal percentage which he leads by even a larger margin. He stands in the top 5 in shots blocked per game and has been an absolute beast in a contract year for the 26 year old stud down in hollywood.
2) Demarcus Cousins; Cousins who not only leads all centers in scoring also takes pride in his leading the position in technicals. Cousins is a monster on both ends of the floor but needs to keep his mouth shut a bit more as teams will second guess themselves if they want a guy like this in the locker room. Cousins has his kings going into the lottery strong with a horrid record of 22-44 however you can’t dismiss the strong play from the 24 year old.
1) Marc Gasol; Gasol who is set to become a free agent at years end will have many suitors. Gasol is simply the best center in the game today as he can beat you so many different ways. His offensive game consists of a nasty post game with a consistent outside shot. Gasol not only affects the game on one end, he is always in the running for defensive player of the year as i expect him to return to that discussion as his Grizzlies hold the number 2 spot out west.
