The Thunder visited the mile high city to face off against the hot nuggets of late on Thursday night. After losing 8 straight, the Nuggets have turned it around and are currently on a 4 game winning streak. Meanwhile the Thunder are on there own little streak. Losing 2 in a row and 4 or there last 6. The Thunder’s offense is non existent without there all star point guard Russell Wesbtook running the show. Durant is averaging nearly 35 points in Westbrook’s absence. Durant also has also scored 48 points on two different occasions in the Thunder’s last 4 contests. Impressive. Durant said it best, he can’t do it all while his all star point guard is out. However tonight was no different. Durant did his part, but again the thunder struggled to find second and third scoring options. Other than Durant, there next leading scorer was Reggie Jackson who pitched in 13. Other than those two players, there was no offense to be found. Meanwhile Denver had 5 players with 9 or more points and rhythm on there offensive end of the floor. The ball was moving which led to easy baskets unlike the Thunder who isolated Durant on close to 90 percent of there plays. The Nuggets finished with 24 assists to Oklahoma Cities 11. Whenever you have more turnovers than assists, you’ll have a tough time finding yourself on top. The Nuggets got a stellar performance from there all star point guard Ty Lawson who connected on 6 of his field goals to score 16 points while dishing out 14 assists and pulling down 7 rebounds, and throw in 3 steals and 1 turnover. The Nuggets got a career game out of an unexpected source off the bench Even Fournier who hit 4 long balls to finish with 19 points on a night to remember for him and his Nuggets.
