When was the last time J.J Redick didn’t hit a three pointer but finished with over 20 points? I wouldn’t recall anything recent nor ever. J.J has really expanded his game this year into a more complete player, really propelling the Clippers forward. If Redick can stay healthy over the last stretch of the season and the playoffs, he gives the Clippers a dimension few teams have. Oh and that other guy played well, what’s his name, right, Blake Griffin. Yeah he is back. Griffin looks healthy and showed glimpses of his old self in tonights win over the struggling Hornets. Griffin finished with 19 points, pulling down 11 rebounds, while dishing out 4 assists. He also led the team in steals and had 3 less turnovers as he did in his first appearance from coming back from elbow surgery. The Clippers blew this game open in this first half, increasing their lead to as much as 22 however the Hornets slowly crawled back outscoring the Clips by 15 in the third quarter. Chris Paul finished with his normal stats hitting 4 three pointers finishing with 21, two short of Redicks 23 for game highs. The Clippers got a big boost off their bench from recent addition Nate Robinson, scoring 12 points. He looked very comfortable out there which is a comforting sight for Clippers fans. After getting humiliated in Utah last night, the Hornets put up a fight, a fight that ended just short. They could never get over the hump once they caught the Clippers late third quarter and the majority of the fourth quarter. Both teams will face head to Sacramento to face the Kings. Clippers get them first tomorrow night while the Hornets will have a couple days off before they face them friday. Clippers jump the Spurs and Mavericks in the standings with the win to 6th while the Hornets fall to 10th in the east, a single game behind the Heat for the final playoff spot.
