The Phoenix Suns slipped by the rusty un identified Los Angeles Lakers wednesday night. The Lakers with only 8 active players dropped to 7 after Nick Young was ejected for throwing ap inch the Phoenix guard Goran Dragic in a mixed altercation after a hard foul occurred mid way through the second quarter between Young and Alex Len. Young penetrated an opening in the Phoenix defense and was fouled hard by the big man. Young took exception and shaved Len while the entire Suns team crowded young. Young then threw a soft punch across the face of Goran Dragic. This was the start to the Lakers 7 game road trip and it wasn’t a start to remember. The rusty, beat up Lakers got solid contributions from Gasol, Johnson, and Kaman off the bench but that wasn’t enough to stop Gerald Green and the Phoenix Suns. Green scored 28 points on 18 shots, scoring a large portion of his 28 in the third quarter which separated the Suns from the Lakers. The Suns also got big contributions from Markieff Morris who scored 17 of his 24 points in the first half while Channing Frye finished with 20 points, scoring half of his points int he fourth quarter alone. Goran Dragic also turned in a gem besides the fact he had 7 turnovers. He finished with a near triple double 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.
