If the playoffs started today, we would see a series that would have Klay Thompson sidelined for his number 1 seeded Warriors and Serge Ibaka sidelined for his number 8 seeded Thunder. These two injuries occurred yesterday, while Thompson sprained his ankle against the depleted Lakers, we got news that Serge Ibaka would miss the remainder of the season and possibly the first round in the playoffs if the Thunder do make it to the playoffs of course. Thompson however remained in the game helping the Warriors fend off the struggling Lakers. Meanwhile we got the awful news update on Serge Ibaka, explaining he would undergo knee surgery unfortunately missing the remainder of the season for the injury depleted OKC Thunder. We also got news regarding Dwight Howard and his health. Yahoo sports reported Howard would miss another 10-14 due to his ailing knee which has failed to heal in a timely manner. Look for the Warriors to take their time on Thompson’s return due to their large lead over the number 2 seeded Grizzlies. The Warriors will need a healthy Thompson if they plan on a long playoff run. Meanwhile the Thunder will do anything they can to speed up the process on Ibakas return. The thunder are fighting for playoff life, needing a healthy Serge Ibaka for any kind of upset in the first round let alone making the playoffs. And lastly, The rockets will take their time on getting back a healthy Howard. Howard is the difference maker in Houston. A healthy Howard could mean a long post season for the Rockets.
