Blake Griffin returned to the hardwood this past sunday with his uniform on rather than the tight suit he wore for the past month he was sidelined for. Griffin had been sidelined for just over a month with required surgery to fix a staff infection in his elbow. As some might expected, Griffins return was a bit iffy to the least. He finished with a near triple double however the Clippers aren’t looking for Griffin to average near triple doubles. The Clippers have the leading rebounder in the NBA as well as the leading assister in the NBA. Point being, they don’t need him filling up either one of those stat categories. Blake Griffin is an dominant as any player in the NBA, having a physique similar to Lebron James and Dwight Howard. the Clippers simply need Griffin to score the ball and he failed to do that Sunday afternoon resulting in a Clippers loss to James Harden’s Rockets. Despite Blakes near triple double, i have to grade his performance with a B-. He looked a bit out of shape at times which was expected, he looked lost at times throwing the ball to the opponent on a couple occasions resulting in 5 costly turnovers. If the Clippers expect any playoff success, they are going to need the Blake Griffin of last year when he finished third in MVP voting. Look for a much improved play from griffin in the Clippers next match against the winnable Charlotte Hornets.
