The Bulls took charge of this game from jump to final horn. Outscoring the Pacers in 3 out of 4 quarters was a positive recipe for success. The injury depleted starting backcourt was again not in tact however their new backcourt played very solid while both scoring in double figures. The Bulls received a huge spark off the bench from rookie Nikola Mirotic who threw in 25 points on just 15 shots despite shooting just 1-7 from downtown. This guy deserves for rookie of the year credit. He is not only producing but producing on a winning team. Mirotic will be a key piece as the Bulls fight for a championship. The Bulls also got a combined 40 points from starting front court Gasol and Dunleavy. Paul Gasol pulled down his league leading 45th double double of the year, that statistic just shows how consistent the spaniards been for an injury depleted Bulls team who has relied so heavily on a player towards the end of his career. The Pacers lose a game they not only wanted but had to win as they fight for playoff contention towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference playoff chase, falling too 30-37 on the year while the Bulls end their losing skid at 2 improving their record to 13 games over .500 sitting at a comfortable 41-28. Indiana draws the Cavs in their next matchup while the Bulls welcome in the Toronto Raptors friday night.
