A+. To think what this club was up against after losing a 3-1 series lead to the Houston Rockets, to where they are now is simply remarkable. Doc Rivers and the Clippers simply had no roster flexibility to work with. No Cap space. Realistically no solvable options. The Clippers entered the offseason with one goal in mind, which was to resign the big man down low; De Andre Jordan. A week into Free Agencey, Jordan declared he would join the Dallas Mavericks. Experts had the Clippers not making the playoffs once they knew Jordan was signing with Dallas. Jordan is a true game changer, making the clear skies of LA quiet foggy. However, Jordan came to his census soon after, understanding he made the wrong decision. Jordan quickly acknowledged the Clippers front office he would like to return to LA. This completely changed two teams off seasons. Jordan returning to LA makes LA a powerhouse with the key additions they added after Jordan resigned which i’ll talk about later in the post. Jordan spurning Dallas turns Dallas into a lottery team going into the 2015-2016 season. It’s crazy how one player can change a franchises championship aspirations so greatly. Once the Clippers got recognition Jordan wanted to return, they were able to add some key pieces to booster their lack of production off the bench. Additions of Lance Stephson, Josh Smith, Cole Aldrich, and Pablo Priginony, and Wesley Johnson alongside the resigning of Austin Rivers has the Clippers bench as deep as ever. The Clippers were also able to get Paul Pierce on an extremely reasonable deal, allowing the LA native to play his last days in the city he was raised in. On Paper, the Clippers have the most talent in the league, and might be a little bias but i don’t even think its close. They’re 3 deep at every position. Look for the Clippers to be considered the favorites to come out of the Wild West for the 2015-2016 season.
