The Los Angeles Clippers had one of the busier offseason in the association locking up their star center De Andre Jordan, signing versatile veterans, and adding depth at nearly every position giving us analysts the question, are the Clippers a title contender? Well, quite frankly the answer is yes. On paper this team is by far deeper than any team going 3 deep at just about every position except Center. The Clippers busy offseason started off with the one goal of re signing Jordan, which they eventually did after some insanity. However they did just that, he and Los Angeles are happy he’ll be in LA for the next 4 years, giving the Clippers hope they can match up against anybody while he is in the paint. They were able to snag Paul Pierce on a home coming discount, signing the verteran small forward to a very affordable deal. They then were able to trade Spencer Hawes and Matt Barnes to Charlotte for Lance Stephenson. They signed Josh Smith to a 1 year deal at just over a million a year which is an absolute bargain. They signed Wes Johnson for some wing versatility, an area the Clippers were promised to improve on over the offseason. And lastly they re signed Austin Rivers who showed inconsistent promise, giving them reason to sign another steady backup point guard Pablo Prigioni. And lastly, they added a big fella to give DeAndre a blow here and there in Cole Aldrich. I personally love all the moves they made. Some are risky but like they said high risk, high reward and at this point Los Angeles has to be all in. They have fell just short in the past two years although this year could be different. The moves they made absolutely have them in the top 5 teams in the league with the Cavs, Warriors, Thunder, and the Spurs. Look for the Clippers to battle the Spurs and Warriors for the best record in the West while having bigger hopes of a title in 2016.
