This way the Dodgers will still be in the running for Tanaka and possibly the favorites to land the young stud. To lock the best pitcher up is always a good thing to do. Kershaw coming off of a historic season will now pitch with 215 million dollars under his blue belt. The Dodgers next priority has to be extending Hanley Ramirez’s contract while bidding for the the young phenom Tanaka. Overall, the Dodgers got exactly what they wanted, extending the reigning cy young winner to a seven year deal worth approximately 215 million.
