The Los Angeles Kings prepared for their final game in the 2011-12 NHL season, as they faced the San Jose Sharks. At the 11:09 mark of the 1st period, Justin Williams scored on a tip-in off a shot from Jarret Stoll, 1-0 Kings. Early in the 2nd period, Mike Richards scored on a rebound, giving the Kings a 2-0 lead. However, just 35 seconds into the 3rd period, and San Jose came out hard and Dan Boyle scored a goal to bring the game within one goal. At the 8:14 mark of the 3rd, Patrick Marleau scored on a tip-in from a Dan Boyle shot from the point, which tied the game at 2. The game headed into overtime and 3:58 into the overtime, Dan Boyle scored with a backhand goal, which gave the Sharks a win, and the 7th seed and a chance to play the St. Louis Blues in playoffs. The Kings will prepare to face the # 1 seed, the Vancouver Canucks in playoffs starting Wednesday April 11th.
