The Los Angeles Kings hoped to regroup after their loss against the Vancouver Canucks two nights ago, as they faced the desperate Calgary Flames. Just 5:30 into the 1st period, Willie Mitchell scored off a point shot, 1-0 Kings. The Kings continued to battle, and 4:22 into the 2nd period, Dustin Brown scored on a shot from the slot, giving the Kings a 2 goal lead. The Kings and the Flames put up a good battle, but when the Flames pulled their goalie with 1:09 left on the clock, Justin Williams scored on the empty net, securing the Kings vital win 3-0.
