3/11/12 – Los Angeles Kings vs. Chicago Blackhawks

The Los Angeles Kings headed to Chicago in hopes of gaining 2 points to propel them closer to that coveted playoff spot. Slava Voynov scored the first goal 1:17 in the 1^st period on a 4 on 1 break. However, at the 12:37 mark of the 2^nd period, Marcus Kruger scored on a rebound, which tied the game at 1. With 2:35 remaining in the 2^nd period, Jeff Carter scored on a one-timer, which gave the Kings a 2-1 lead. The Blackhawks wouldn’t quit and 7:36 into the 3^rd period, Patrick Kane scored by jamming the puck past Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick, which tied the game at 2. The game headed into a shootout, and Mike Richards scored the winner to give the Kings a 3-2 victory.
