The Los Angeles Kings prepared to face the New York Islanders on the final stretch of their 6 game road trip. Michael Grabner scored 7 minutes into the 1st period giving the Islanders an early 1-0 lead. The Kings continued to battle, and 5:20 into the 2nd period, Andrei Loktionov scored on a rebound, which tied the game at 1. Both teams continued to battle for the remainder of the game, and 1:36 into overtime, Mark Streit dangled through three of the Kings players, and scored on Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick, giving the Islanders a 2-1 win.
