The Kings headed to Boston to face the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Boston Bruins after the team relieved head coach Terry Murray of his duties. The Bruins struck first, just 6:32 into the 1st period with a give and go play, which resulted in Rich Peverley scoring past Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick, 1-0 Boston. At 7:43 of the 2nd, Boston struck immediately off of the face off with Brad Marchand doing the scoring, giving the Bruins a 2-0 lead. At the 5:35 of the 3rd, Marchand scored yet another goal, unguarded by the Kings defenseman, giving him a lane to skate and score. The Bruins win by a final score of 3-0.
