The Kobe less Lakers took on the Spurs Sunday afternoon on ABC. The Lakers simply lacked offense. They didn’t play bad defense, holding the spurs to only 91 points. But that wasn’t the problem. The problem was only scoring 79 points of their own. They got solid contributions from all starters but that wasn’t the problem. The problem was their bench. The bench combined for a low of 10 points. In my last post, i explained Eric Bledsoe of the Clippers had more than 10 points in the fourth quarter alone, and the Lakers scored 10 bench points in the entire game. Meanwhile the Spurs had 40 points. Ginobli played a huge part of the bench scoring; scoring 18 points in 18 minutes. Bonner added 10. The Lakers got a solid performance out of Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol. Dwight had 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 blocks while gasol contributed with 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 assists. The Lakers fall to the spurs in game 1 by 12 by a score of 91-79.
